The Spirit 70 is the third chapter in Porsche's Heritage Design strategy, following the 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition and the 911 Sport Classic. It draws inspiration from the 1970s, whereas the previous two looked to the 1950s and 1960s. The technical base is the 992.2 Carrera GTS Cabriolet, the top of the Carrera range below the Turbo and GT models, and production is limited to 1,500 units worldwide.
The powertrain is the T-Hybrid. The 3.6-litre flat-six alone develops 357 kW (485 hp) and 570 Nm. A single turbo features an electric motor-generator between the turbine and compressor, eliminating turbo lag and producing up to 11 kW; a second electric motor of 40 kW and 150 Nm from idle is integrated into the 8-speed PDK. The 400-volt battery has a gross capacity of 1.9 kWh, 216 water-cooled cells weighing 27 kg, and cannot be charged externally. System output: 398 kW (541 hp) and 610 Nm.
The series is recognisable by the Olive Neo colour created for it, Bronzite accents on the bumpers and Sport Classic Fuchs-style wheels, three silk black stripes on the bonnet, and the 1963 Porsche crest. Inside, the black and Olive Neo Pasha pattern covers the seat centres and door panels, on black basalt club leather with Olive Neo stitching, with a 12.65-inch instrument cluster and Sport Chrono stopwatch with green numerals.
1,500 units worldwide, compared to 992 for the Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition and 1,250 for the Sport Classic.
The T-Hybrid requires a high-voltage certified network: the water-cooled battery has its own thermal management, and post-collision intervention cannot be carried out in just any workshop. Olive Neo and the Pasha fabric are unique to the series, so repainting or seat refurbishment costs significantly more than a standard colour.
Taxation: for the first French registration (carte grise (French registration certificate)) of a unit imported from abroad, the CO2 penalty is calculated according to the scale in force at the year of first registration, not the current scale. The 2025 scale is capped at 70,000 EUR from 193 g/km, and 236 g/km falls within this; only the age-related reduction by month bands lowers it (CIBS art. L. 421-7-2: 16% between thirteen and eighteen months). This 2025 scale only applies to registrations after 1 March 2025, with January and February still subject to the 2024 scale, capped at 60,000 EUR.
