The P530 is the V8 version of the Range Rover L460, fifth generation assembled in Solihull since 2022. It sits above the six-cylinder D350 and P400, below the SV from Special Vehicle Operations, with Autobiography forming the top tier of the standard trims. In long wheelbase, the wheelbase reaches 3,197 mm for a length of 5,252 mm, in five or seven seats.
The V8 is of BMW origin: 4,395 cm3, two turbos, 390 kW or 530 hp, 750 Nm, eight-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive, for 2,708 kg unladen and 259 g/km of approved CO2. Land Rover did not take it as is: the air intake has been raised to preserve wading capability and the oil pan redesigned to prevent pump starvation on steep inclines.
The model year relies on this engine. The 2022 and 2023 L460s use the non-hybrid N63; during the 2024 model year, JLR switched to the S68, which adds a 48 V system, a starter-alternator and different engine stop/start management. This 2026 model year therefore receives the S68. The rear wheels steer, up to 7.3 degrees, counter-steering below 50 km/h and in phase above.
The P530 has accompanied the L460 since its launch in 2022; the switch from N63 to S68 during the 2024 model year separates two distinct engines under the same commercial name.
Two different engines bear the name P530 depending on the model year, N63 until 2023 then S68: parts, diagnostics and workshop availability are not the same, which explains price differences between two seemingly identical cars.
For tax purposes, 259 g/km places the car at the top of the 2026 CO2 penalty, i.e. 80,000 euros from 192 g/km; for a vehicle already registered abroad, the scale applied is that of the year of first registration, reduced by a depreciation coefficient. The tax on kerb weight is due from 1,500 kg, in bands of 10 to 30 euros per kilogram. Finally, a vehicle delivered less than six months after its first registration, or showing less than 6,000 km, remains fiscally new under article 298 sexies of the French General Tax Code: French VAT at 20% is then due.
